Crime Stoppers joins forces with Cornejo & Sons

Crime Stoppers of Wichita/Sedgwick County and Cornejo and Sons have joined forces to encourage citizens to fight crime, Crime Stoppers Board President Jim Todd announced today. The partnership will result in significantly greater exposure for the crime-fighting organization.

“Recently, several members of the Crime Stoppers board approached Cornejo and Sons about putting Crime Stoppers decals on the company’s fleet of trucks and other equipment. The decals feature the Crime Stoppers name and phone number,” Todd said.

“In our meeting with Ron and Marty Cornejo, they came up with the idea to repaint one of their large concrete mixer trucks using the Crime Stoppers name and phone number on the truck’s rotating drum. In essence, the truck will be a rolling billboard for Crime Stoppers -- encouraging citizens to report crime -- as it travels the streets and highways around Sedgwick County.”

Todd said Cornejo’s willingness to put the decals on all its vehicles and create the Cornejo Crime Stoppers mixer truck underscores the company’s commitment to being a solid corporate citizen.

CEO Ron Cornejo said it’s all about giving back to the community.

“An important part of corporate citizenship is working to help make the community a better place to live and work. By working with Crime Stoppers, the Wichita Police Department and the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, Cornejo & Sons hopes to help lower crime and make Wichita a safer and more secure community,” he said.

In addition to the Cornejo Crime Stoppers mixer truck, approximately 275 Cornejo & Sons vehicles will display the familiar decal that features the Crime Stoppers phone number, 267-2111.
