LEAD DETECTIVE: OFFICER MAUCK, WICHITA POLICE DEPARTMENT

Just after 1:45 p.m. Saturday, April 26, a 6-year-old boy ran around the back of an SUV, parked by the curb in the 6200 block of East Eilert, and into the street. A vehicle turned onto Eilert at the same time. The car struck the child hard enough that he flew up in the air and landed in the middle of the street. The driver didn't stop. The child had cuts and abrasions and was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

Police are looking for a 2000s model gray or silver Pontiac Grand Prix. It has an out-of- state license tag, possibly Pennsylvania.
