When residents in the area of 5400 W. Zoo Blvd. lost electrical service on Wednesday, Oct. 15, it was discovered that power lines had been stripped of the copper wire. Approximately 600 feet was taken. Workers temporarily replaced the wire in order to restore service. Two days later, when they returned to permanently replace the wire, they discovered that four of the 25-foot utility poles had been cut down and another 400 feet of copper wire was taken, plus one of the poles. Loss is valued at more than $10,000, with damages of $2,000.
