On June 19, 2015, a man living near 16th and Grove was confronted by a man and a woman in the parking lot of the Emprise branch at 2001 N. Broadway. They identified themselves as law enforcement officers and told him they were investigating Emprise Bank for distributing counterfeit currency.
They asked him to help them by withdrawing $25,000 from his bank account. They explained that then they would be able to gather evidence against the bank’s "counterfeiting operation."
Both suspects are black. The woman in the photo is seen contacting the victim in the bank parking lot. The man pictured is believed to be a third suspect acting as a look-out inside of the bank. The suspects were driving a silver Ford Fusion.
