CRIME STOPPERS CASE #1602
FOR THE WEEK OF JAN. 17, 2016
DEPARTMENT CASE NUMBER: 15S12611
LEAD DETECTIVE: DET. J. CRAFTON, SEDGWICK COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. Dec. 13, 2015, someone broke into a home in the area of 127th Street East and 13th Street North. The burglar first tried to enter by prying open a rear door. When that failed, the suspect used a rock to shatter a window and gained entry through another door. Once inside, the burglar rifled through the residence, focusing on high-end jewelry. It is believed the suspect used a pillowcase from the residence to carry out the stolen jewelry. One item of particular interest is a 2-karat diamond ring with an approximate value of $30,000. This unique ring will stand out to anyone familiar with fine jewelry. (See attached photo.) Total loss is estimated at more than $50,000.
