About 11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, a man was preparing to tow a car with his personal truck in the 1900 block of North Arkansas. He had just attached the tow cable and was standing between the two vehicles when a silver minivan traveling east on 18th Street made a left turn onto Arkansas. The minivan struck the rear of the vehicle being towed, pushing it into the victim's truck and pinning him between the two vehicles. The driver of the minivan backed up and continued north on Arkansas and was last seen turning east onto 19th Street. The victim suffered a partial amputation of his leg. He was transported to the hospital in serious condition where the fight to save his leg continues.

The minivan is a late '90s to early 2000 Chrysler or Dodge. It will have damage to the front bumper, grill, radiator and possibly the hood. The right front bumper may have more damage than the left.
